1. Although there is indeed machinery utilized in the actual construction process, the lampshade is not a production-run item. The lampshade is made in a special way to suit specific requirements for just that one lampshade. The top material is adhered to a metal frame, and then the lining is put into the inside of the frame to cover the side wires. A trim is then affixed to the top and bottom of the lampshade to make a nice, finished product.
   
2. The second part of the definition relates to design, and we are the experts. We have been creating lampshades for three generations. Our experience enables us to design a lampshade to fit any lamp and specifically suit your special décor. The lampshade then makes a wonderful addition to your unique room. In fact, if you bring in your own special fabric we can design and produce the unique lampshade that you envisioned.

Lamp Shade Recovering
We begin by removing the old fabric from your lampshade, cleaning up any rust that remains on the metal frame, and rustproofing the frame with rust-protective paint. We then rebuild your lampshade with fabric from our stock or fabric you have provided. A fine-quality crepe lining is then applied and a matching or coordinating trim added to the top and bottom, creating a beautifully finished lampshade that you will be proud to have in your home.
 
Expert Lamp Repairs
Whether you need a lamp socket replaced or a new cord installed, most repairs are completed while you wait. This is convenient, since you only have to make one trip to our store. If you need any other parts such as a harp, base, pipe, neck, vase cap, line switch, or felt for the bottom of the lamp, we are the folks to see. If your lamp needs to be completely refinished, we will take care of that for you, too. Let our more than 45 years of experience solve all your lamp problems, big or small!
 
Remounting
We will remount your lamp on a new base or refinish the existing base and add new parts where they are needed. When we get finished, your lamp will look like new.
 
Wholesale
Our wholly owned subsidiary, Jay-Bee Lamp & Shade Company, Inc., deals with wholesale accounts. As a wholesale manufacturer of fine lamps and soft lampshades, we can meet the needs of hotels, retail stores, lamp manufacturers, and catalogue houses. Each lamp and soft lampshade order is priced according to the quantities ordered. We can offer tremendous savings on larger orders. We can ship anywhere in the country. Brass Polishing
If your lamp is real brass, new or antique, we can bring out the original luster and beauty. We can polish it to a satin glow or a brilliant high gloss and then apply a protective coating to preserve the shine for a long time.

We carry all kinds of chandeliers, lighting fixtures, and fans. Whether you are looking for crystal, brass, beveled glass, Tiffany, or Spanish bronze, we have it all. We also have chandeliers with Moroccan Strauss prisms, regular crystal prisms, a combination of both types of prisms, or Italian prisms. We also carry a wide selection of ceiling fans. Remember the pole lamp? We manufacture them in a variety of different finishes and glass combinations right on our premises. We have a wonderful selection of brass, brass plated, white-metal cast, crystal, and wood lamps.
 
Looking for floor lamps? We have tree, torchier, 6-way, swing arms, bridge, and halogen lamps in stock. Last, but certainly not least, we have a full supply of the newest touch-sensor lamps. Your touch really turns them on!
